SANTORINI

The last stop on our European adventure was Santorini. My family has always wanted to go there to see the blue roofs, the fuschia flowers, and the breathtaking sunsets. Some people have said it's a honeymoon destination or couples only... I beg to differ. Not once did it ever feel like a couples island. So go ahead and plan your next greek getaway and don't hesitate. See below for all the details of this gorgeous city. 

STAY - Canaves Oia Epitome

This trip we kind of went all out for the last stop of the trip. This hotel was kind of crazy. We had our own villa equipped with our own private pool. You could find me in the pool all day. The outdoor shower made for some epic photos. This 2 bedroom villa fit all 5 of us. The decor and style really made me feel like I was in California. I left feeling relaxed, tan and incredible inspired to redecorate my apartment.

EAT- Candouni

We ate at this restaurant twice that's how good it was. Make sure to make a reservation before going as they book up pretty quickly. You feel like you are at someone's home. The restaurant chefs are a mom and son. Everything on the menu is delicious. I am still dreaming of their penne pasta. After eating at Candouni you are few steps away from the best gelato on the island, Lolita's.

Armeni is the best-kept secret of the island. We took a high-speed water taxi to the restaurant. You must go here for lunch to really appreciate the beauty in the daylight (although it is super busy for dinner).  The freshest fish from the sea and the best-grilled shrimp leave you wanting more. The restaurant is on top of the sea and in between courses they encourage you to jump in and enjoy. Beware of the rocks though! It's owner Nico is the cutest and the cats that wander between the tables! Be sure to flip through the menu for some surprises and a place for you to leave your mark.

SEE

The city of Santorini is a beautiful one. During the day can be pretty hot to explore the town so either go super early or plan for some after dinner shopping. Make sure to wear comfortable flats since there is a lot of dust on the roads that blow over and be careful of the steep stairs and ground through the town is a tad uneven, so be sure to WATCH YOUR STEP.
